Overview
Why it exists
Teams want to ask an AI assistant about their monitoring (what's alerting, what changed, which devices are in a group) and have it act on the answer. The MCP server gives assistants like Claude safe, structured access to the LogicMonitor API.
What it does
- Manage devices, device groups, websites, collectors, alerts, users, dashboards, SDTs and OpsNotes in natural language.
- Pull datasources, instances and time-series metrics for a device.
- Batch operations with rate limiting, and guided workflows for multi-step tasks like exporting metrics.
- Credentials passed per request and never stored; runs locally over stdio or remotely over HTTP.
Outcomes
- Published on npm for any MCP client, Claude included.
- Hosted in the LogicMonitor GitHub organization as a community project.
How it's built
A Model Context Protocol server for Node.js, published to npm, with every response carrying the full API payload and request metadata so agents never lose fields.
