Overview
Why it exists
Building a LogicModule means writing Groovy or PowerShell, running it on a collector, reading the output and checking it against the portal, all in different places. LMDA Composer puts that loop in one browser workspace for LogicMonitor admins and power users.
What it does
- Write, run and debug Groovy and PowerShell scripts against a portal and collector, with the device's properties beside the editor.
- Search across every LogicModule's scripts and datapoints to find where something is used.
- Import scripts from the LogicModule Exchange to start from working code.
- Explore and test the LogicMonitor REST API, and run scripts across several collectors at once.
Outcomes
- Published on the Chrome Web Store for LogicMonitor admins.
- The browser version of the workflow the VS Code extension brings to Git-based teams.
How it's built
A Chrome extension built with Vite and React on the Monaco editor (the editor inside VS Code), talking to the LogicMonitor portal the user is signed in to.
